Concept Statement 

The apocalypse is here, across dimensions and the Zombies, skeletons, ghouls and ghosts are not here to play! Survive the onslaught, can you survive the Dimensional Apocalypse?! 

Genre 

Horror 2D top-down shooter for the casual players.

Concept Creation Process/Area and Influences 

Zombies, skeletons, ghouls and ghost have always been a huge influence and horror is one of my favourite style of games. Stemming from the variable resident evil games, I have always had a bias towards zombies and the like for video games and has been a huge influence for this video game. The art that was found from Craftpix.net, has always been an influential style for me since the days of the Castlevania side scroller series and have always loved the undead/cursed aesthetic. 

Audience and Competitive Analysis 

The target audience is for the comedy, b-grade horror aficionados who just love shooting zombies, ghouls and skeletons alike. 

 

Game Treatment

You play as Larry, the average Joe American who was peacefully living in his own bubble in laid back Hobart Tasmania, when suddenly he is awoken in the apocalypse, but not any ordinary apocalypse a Dimensional Apocalypse. Can you make Larry survive the apocalypse, is there an end, how did it happen? Seek survival, will it end and can life be normal again?

The levels are designed across 4 dimensions with each dimension having its own aesthetic, ranging from cursed lands, to undead lands and even our own dimension in remote forest Tasmania! A simple gun and sword is all Larry has and enemies will require different methods to destroy, like zombies required to be shot and skeletons to be hit with the sword!

Overall this is a very understandable concept with some great points in there, but the majority of what's needed for this assignment in terms of communicating the idea fully is left up to the imagination of the reader. There are glimmers of interesting stuff here like the twist that there is a Tasmanian level, the niche target audience being an interesting one, but all of these points and more needed expanding upon to flesh out the idea fully. As it stands I have a basic understanding of what you're going to make, but not enough to be able to highlight any potential issues with the feasibility of the project.
